Support That Meets You Where You Are

Many people come to individual therapy because something feels off, even if, from the outside, life looks “fine.”

You may be successful, driven, and capable. You may be used to handling things on your own. And yet, lately, you’ve noticed that stress lingers longer, emotions feel harder to manage, or the noise in your mind won’t quiet down.

At Amavita Counseling, individual therapy is a space where you don’t have to hold it all together. It’s a place to slow down, feel understood, and begin moving forward with intention.

Is Individual Therapy Right for You?

We offer therapy for adults (18+) through in-person sessions in Pittsburgh and virtual counseling across Pennsylvania and Texas.

What Individual Therapy
Looks Like at Amavita

Therapy at Amavita is calm, collaborative, and grounded

It’s not about being told what to do or being “fixed.” It’s about creating a supportive partnership where you can explore what’s really going on beneath the surface.

In individual sessions, we work together to:

•Understand your experiences, patterns, and emotional responses
• Explore what’s contributing to stress, anxiety, or low mood
•Develop healthier ways of coping and responding
• Build emotional awareness and resilience
• Create movement toward a life that feels more balanced and aligned

Sessions move at your pace and are shaped around
your goals, v alues, and needs.

A Thoughtful Approach for High-Functioning Adults

Many of our clients are what we call high-functioning.

They’re professionals, business owners, athletes, creatives, and caregivers, people who are used to performing, problem-solving, and pushing through.

Individual therapy offers a space where you don’t have to perform. Where it’s okay to feel unsure, frustrated, or tired. Where you can gain understanding and direction without pressure or judgment.

Our Therapeutic Approach

We take a whole-person view of emotional well-being.

Individual therapy may incorporate a range of therapeutic approaches and theories, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and psychodynamic frameworks.

The specific approach will depend on your clinician’s orientation and training, but it will always be trauma-informed and responsive to your unique needs, goals, and story.

Rather than focusing solely on labels or diagnoses, we aim to help you:

The therapeutic approach will be discussed and adapted as needed during your consultation or sessions t o ensure it’s the best fit for you.

In-Person or Virtual Therapy: Your Choice

In-person therapy

takes place in a private, comfortable office space in Pittsburgh. Many clients appreciate the structure and ritual of coming into the office as a way to step away from daily demands.

Virtual therapy

is offered through a secure, easy-to-use video platform for clients across Pennsylvania and Texas. Virtual sessions are flexible, convenient, and allow therapy to fit into busy lives.

Both options are equally effective. The best choice is the one that helps y ou show up consistently and feel safe.

Getting Started is Simple

Beginning individual therapy doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. We start with a free 20-minute consultation, where you can:

• Share what’s bringing you to therapy
• Ask any questions you may have
